What we cannot help with
There is a firm line here and it exists for good reasons rather than legal ones.
- Personal dive planning. We will not review your plan, check your gas calculations for a specific dive, or tell you whether a profile is acceptable. That is a conversation with an instructor or a divemaster who can see you, your gear, your certification and the site.
- Anything outside your certification. If a question is about decompression diving, cave or wreck penetration, solo diving or rebreathers, the answer is a course. The technical diving page explains why we stop there.
- Medical questions. Fitness to dive, decompression illness symptoms, ear problems and medication interactions all belong with a diving physician. If you suspect decompression illness, contact emergency services and a diving medical hotline immediately rather than a website.
- Servicing your gear. Regulator service, cylinder inspection and drysuit seal replacement are shop jobs. The maintenance guide covers what you can reasonably do yourself and what you cannot.
For brands and manufacturers
We are glad to receive corrections to published specifications and product information, and those are treated exactly like any reader correction: verified against your own documentation and then fixed. How do I report an error in the dive math on this site?
Use the form on this page and pick "Correction" as the subject. Include the page address and the figure you believe is wrong, and the working if you have it. Can I use your charts or calculators on my own site?
Quote a figure with a link back and that is fine. Copying a chart wholesale or embedding a calculator is not, both because it is our work and because the calculators carry safety context that does not travel with a copied table. If you want to reference something in a training context, get in touch and say what you need, and we will usually say yes.
How quickly do you reply?
This is a small site run by a small team, so allow several days for general enquiries. Corrections to dive planning math are handled first and usually much faster. If you do not hear back, check your spam folder, because replies from a personal domain are filtered more often than they should be.
How we choose: we compare published manufacturer specifications, published training agency standards, and verified owner reviews across retailers. We do not test gear in person, and every depth rating, cylinder capacity and algorithm name quoted here is the manufacturer's published figure unless we say otherwise, so confirm it on the current spec sheet before you buy.
